Toyama Glass Art Museum is pleased to present a solo exhibition by MIYANAGA Aiko (1974-).
This is a large-scale exhibition featuring her masterpiece as well as the latest works created specifically for this exhibition.

Artist Miyanaga Aiko is known for her sculptures in naphthalene, resin, and glass, as well as installations using salt and leaf veins, all with an overarching theme of “ever-changing continuation.” Miyanaga takes everyday occurrences, often unnoticed, and elevates them into breathtakingly beautiful works of art.

 

On the occasion of this exhibition, MIYANAGA Aiko Wrapping a Verse, having spent time engaging directly with glass, Miyanaga uses this alluring material to present new works in Toyama that embrace water, air, and history. Encountering Miyanaga’s creations will undoubtedly lead us to reflect on and connect with our own personal memories.

MIYANAGA Aiko Wrapping a Verse offers an exceptional opportunity to experience the profound observation of daily life that underpins all of Miyanaga’s work, leaving us bathed in its warm glow.
